Glenrock Golf Course #1

Hole #1 – Par4, 332 yards (white tees). Green is somewhere over to the left.

Glenrock Golf Course would be the perfect track for me to play on equal terms with Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, or Jose Feliciano. If they were to join me in a game, this course would certainly “fit their eye”. The reason you ask? It’s because Read more →

Stratton Golf Club #1

Hole #1 – Par 4, 355 yards. Fairways don’t get any wider than this.

I saw the maintenance shed and the 6th tee box. I walked around and saw no one.  Read more →

Fort Steilacoom Golf Course – Lakewood, WA

Ft. Steilacoom GC #9

Hole #9 – Par 4, 260 yards. Dogleg right and Birdie time.

Fort Steilacoom Golf Course reminded me of Chambers Bay. The fairways were brown and firm; the greens were in good shape but a little bumpy; the green fee was $16…I guess that is where the comparisons start to fall short. I was warmly greeted by Tom, a former Colorado resident, and he enlightened me about the course I was about to play.  First thing… Read more →

Claremont Golf Club

Hole #1 – Par 4 – 352 yards (white tees)

I felt like a stalker. Hiding behind trees; peering over hedges; and cowardly standing behind all those protective screens. This is how I spent my time at Claremont Golf Club. I arrived late in the day, without any clubs, so I was too late to complete a round. I set out on foot (with permission) to walk the course and take a few notes. Read more →
