Gene, Gene, the Greeting Machine! Many of you who were around in the 1970’s will understand this immediately. For those of you who weren’t alive to experience those disco years, you’ll need to read on. As we started the Always Time for 9 – MN, SD, ND, +4: The Final Frontier – 50 in 75, Parto’s Big on Golf was our first stop.

Shot Value: The course is wide open with not too many hazards except for Hole #3. The greens are small which will present issues for higher handicap golfers.
Design Variety: The course measures a short 959 yards. The holes range from 85 to 125 yards. Not many hazards except the big water surrounding Hole #3. On a few holes, any shot long will find (or not find) your ball in the woods.

Memorability: The Island Green at #3. And of course, Gene, Gene, the Greeting Machine!
Aesthetics: Trees dot this track, but none should be too much trouble – unless your shots are too long. The island green took five of our balls from this threesome. Any shot left on number 9, might find the “private property” machine yard.

Conditioning: The fairways (which should not matter) had irregular patches of grass, but the greens were in excellent shape.
Ambience: What more can I say, Gene, Gene, the Greeting Machine was an excellent host. He gave us the “lowdown” before we went out, and was there to greet us after our round.
Rating – Uncategorized: For a small, privately-owned par 3 course, the clubhouse has a wide variety of golf products. There is also a driving range, miniature golf course, and a PGA Professional for lessons. Make sure to stop in Eagle Grille & Tavern down the street in Hubbard for a post round brew.
For those of you who did not experience the late ’70’s, The Gong Show with Chuck Barris featured Gene, Gene, the Dancing Machine. You can check out his “talents” on YouTube!
