After we had such a good experience at Osgood Golf Course, we decide we needed to play one of the other 9-hole tracks in Fargo. Our first choice was the par 32 Prairiewood Golf Course, however due to wet conditions we were limited to only walking which does not work for one of our group. Never fear, next on the list was El Zagal Public Golf Course which is a 9-hole par 3 course and ready for these senior golfers (strangely they were not wet at all).

Shot Value: Not much to think about at this par 3 course. Just choose your weapon and hit away. You can leave all your woods in the car.
Design Variety: The holes range from 93 to 175 yards. There are no bunkers or hazards of any kind. The greens are all very similar in size and shape.

Memorability: Just a nice easy walk (for some of us) and a chance to work on our iron game. We were nearing the end of our MN, SD, ND, +4: The Final Frontier – 50 in 75 Golf Adventure. I have now completed visiting all 50 states in 75 years!
Aesthetics: A nice layout in a small space with lots of scattered mature trees.
Conditioning: Just as we found out at Osgood GC, this course was in excellent shape. A big “shout out” to the city of Fargo for keeping this small course in such good condition.

Ambience: The clubhouse is very similar to the course itself – small and clean, with the basics (i.e., balls, tees, gloves, rental clubs) you need for a round. The one-woman staff was very helpful and friendly.
Rating – Uncategorized: It’s an excellent course for a beginning golfer and anyone who wants to work on their iron game. There is also a Footgolf course integrated into the 9-holes.

And now for something completely different…let’s talk Fargo lodging. As these four senior golfers travel around the country, we like to find different types of lodging options. We definitely found a unique one at Brewhala Hotel, Marketplace and Brewery. This hotel is brought to you by the weirdos at Drekker Brewing – their words, not mine! I can’t wait to make another trip (with Mrs. Always Time for 9) to Fargo so we can play Prairiewood GC and stay again with the weirdos at Brewhala!
