Passport√; drivers license√; AARP card√. Get all your identification in order as you will be asked for ID before entering this gated golf course community. Heritage Bay is open to the public, that is if you can produce identification. The Cypress, Oak, and Pine courses make up this 27-hole facility and the Cypress was the designated nine for this day.
The first four holes (10-13) are straight and open except for the occasional bunkers that come into play. The most difficult drive is getting your cart from #10 green to #11 tee box – pay close attention to the directional signs. Are you looking for housing? The routing from #12 to #13 takes you through the heart of the development. Houses are ever-present but they should never come into play.
Landing areas are generous, greens are large but undulating which creates a tremendous challenge. Putting and chipping separate the men from the boys on this course. The Cypress nine is tame if you play from the white tees but moving back to the tips will bring most of the hazards into play.
Birdie: $36 for nine plus cart and rental clubs√; course was empty and my round was completed in 1hr & 30 min√; Tif Eagle greens are excellent√; golf, then time left to head to the beach√.
