Hole #9 – Par 3, 134 yards. “The Ant Hill”

We wanted to play golf on August 21, 2017 but thought the Solar Eclipse would interfere with our day. We decided to drive across the border into Canada so we wouldn’t be bothered by this event. Suddenly, when we reached the third hole, the earth around us darkened as the sun began to be eclipsed by the moon (those words sound vaguely familiar). So this event was not only occurring in the United States? Read more →

The Causeway Club. The causeway as seen from Hole #4

“Quirky, funky, unique…a course everyone should play”. That is how one golfer described The Causeway Club. Another person in the same group said, “it is a cow pasture.” I guess to each his own but we have heard this before, so here is our take on this interesting track. Read more →

Hole#8 – Par 3, 150 yards. Trouble left, right, and long.

This clubhouse greets you as you enter the driveway. I feel good about this course.

“Wawenock” is the name of one of the bands or subgroups of the Penobscot tribe, located in what is now Maine. The name Wawenock means “round island” in the Penobscot language. I have to admit, every time I hear that name I think of Donald Penobscot from M*A*S*H. I’m not sure about the “island” part but there is plenty of water around this area. I do understand the “round” reference because Read more →

Hole #8 – Par 4, 286 yards. Washington Monument seen from fairway.

We had one full day in Washington, DC. One Always Time for 9 team member had never visited our nation’s capitol. How do we visit Arlington National Cemetery, Lincoln Memorial, The White House, U.S. Capitol, Jefferson Memorial, Smithsonian, plus many more and still get in a round of golf? Here is how we accomplished everything in an eight hour time frame… Read more →
