Captains Cove Golf & Yacht Club – Greenbackville, VA

Hole #1 – Par 4, 311 yards (maroon). Water everywhere.

Water, bunkers, hills, and fast greens; more water, bunkers, hills, and fast greens; and even more water, bunkers, hills, and fast greens. That is what you will find at Captains Cove Golf & Yacht Club in Greenbackville, VA. Greenbackville – it sounds like a made up name as in the movie Read more →

NOTL Golf Club #5

Hole #5 with Lake Ontario on left side of tee box.

It was a cold, rainy, and blustery day on the golf links. I tried to steady myself as I bent down to expertly form my tee out of a small pile of wet sand. I placed my gutty on the tee and extracted my brassie from its well-worn leather bag. Spring Creek GC #7

Hole #7 – Love it when you drive the green and putt for eagle.

Today was about golf and chocolate. Golf in the morning and chocolate in the afternoon…and a good day was had by all. For a golfer who worked for both Mars and Nestle companies, it was a little difficult entering the chocolate city of Hershey, PA. Read more →

Lake Lackawanna Golf Course #4

Hole #4 – Par 4 , 275 yards. Eagle would look good on the scorecard.

“Look before you hit” the sign says.  Words to heed before you strike your opening shot down the first fairway. Reis Avenue runs parallel and very close to the left side of Hole #1. But if you time it perfectly, the wayward hook can provide quite a bit of extra roll!  Holes #2 and #3 are carbon copy par 3 holes – one of 165 yards and the other 150 yards. Both require Read more →

Skyway Golf Course – Clubhouse view

Don’t judge a book by its cover. First impressions can be very deceiving. Remember these words as you turn onto Duncan Avenue and start to dodge all the semi’s delivering their goods to the warehouses along this strip. I was starting to wonder if Siri was playing a joke on us because there was no way there was a beautiful course down this street. So when Siri said, “you have arrived, the destination is on the left”, Lincoln Park West and the Pulaski Skyway loomed before us. The course was
